The Elenia Group consists of the electricity distribution company Elenia Oy as the parent company and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, a customer service business Elenia Palvelut Oy and Elenia Finance Oyj.
Elenia Networks is Finland’s second largest electricity distribution system operator (DSO) with a 12% market share by number of customers. Elenia Networks is a regional monopoly serving all customers in the regions in which it operates as defined by the licence granted by the Energy Authority (EA). The relevant licence holder has the exclusive right to build and operate an electricity distribution network in its area of responsibility. Elenia Oy has 74,000 km of electricity network and it supplies electricity to approximately 430,000 end-users. Elenia's underground cabling rate is 50%. In addition to residential customers, key customer segments include industrial, services, construction and public sectors. The company has operations in more than 100 cities and municipalities spanning a geographical area of nearly 600 km in length across central Finland, from Southern Häme to Northern Ostrobothnia.
Elenia’s owners are Valtion Eläkerahasto (VER), Allianz Capital Partners (ACP) on behalf of the Allianz Group and Macquarie Super Core Infrastructure Fund.
